Our Bucks
bucks001008.jpg
Bucks have a reputation for being stinky. This is well deserved during the breeding season, but not all year. If they are separated from the does they behave very pleasantly and the do not stink. During breeding season though, they “perfume” themselves. Then they and everything they touch, smells! I still love them, but they do not get to be rubbed and loved on unless I am well covered! I keep all of the bucks together in one pasture. They get along very well although there is some head-butting that goes on during the breeding season. The never seem to be too rough, and they do not hurt each other. They enjoy being together just like the does and they are just as gentle.

Dakota is a hansome big baby. This year he won his Permanent Grand Champion Status!! He is a wide, strong goat and he carries himself very proudly.
Marvin joined our herd as a baby in 2008. This is the first year we have used him for breeding, and the kids we got are beautiful so far. Long smooth bodies and long elegant ears. Should have good udders since his genetics have produced nice udders and good milkers.

SAANENS
American Saanen
Embarq is our oldest Saanen buck. He is a sweety and is a hit with the visitors because of his beard. He has produces great kids, and his pedigree speaks for itself.

Twister's dam and sire both have fantastic temperments, so when I lost his sire I decided to keep him as a buck. He has turned out to be quite a handsome "young buck"! He is a very shaggy guy, so he has a summer haircut in this picture. We had his first babies this year. He was quite the excape artist so we have some mixed ones from him also!

This is Leo! He has a super cool "doo"! At least I think so, but that is not why I bought him. I couldn't pass up the breeding on this guy. He has a great pedigree, so even though I really did not need another Saanen buck - here he is. We will use him for some breeding this year.
Theodore was a new addition to our herd this past fall. He has filled out beautifully which can not be seen to well in this picture. I will get a new one soon.
The pictures I have are mostly candid shots since life doesn't give enough time to pose each one right now.
Most of our nubians are young. We used Marvin with most our our does this past breeding.
